moving truck rental deals
Need advice on renting a moving truck. Please take a look!?
Im moving out of state and need to tow my car and stuff. I just called Uhaul and got a ridiculous price (1400 from missouri to texas). Anyone ever dealt with other companies? What are your opinions? I plan to insure both the truck and trailer. Has anyone had negative experiences with such insurance? If so, how can I avoid potential catastrophes?
Also, has anyone had any luck with negotiating prices with rental trucks? If so, share the techniques!

I would look into Penske. My parents used them when we moved from Southern Florida to Wisconsin and back again 6 months later. All the fees came to about $1500 total (moving from and back to FL). We did have a problem with our moving truck, but Penske sent a guy out to the gas station where we stopped and he fixed us right up, no charge.
If they charged $1500 for a cross country move, it should MUCH less for a a Missouri-Texas trip. Of course, we didn’t have trailer. We just drove our vehicles there, so obviously you’re going to have an additional expense for a trailer. But it shouldn’t be as ridiculous as $1400 for such a short trip.
